Surface Mount Technology (SMT) PCBA is engineered for consumer
electronics requiring high component density in minimal board space. Utilizing advanced high-speed placement
machines capable of mounting 01005 components with placement accuracy of ±0.05mm, this assembly delivers exceptional performance for smartphones,
smartwatches, tablets, and wireless earbuds. The SMT process
enables components that are 50-80% smaller than through-hole equivalents, maximizing board real estate while
maintaining signal integrity. With dual-sided SMD placement capabilities and reflow soldering technology, this PCBA achieves production
speeds of thousands of components per hour with consistent quality.
Designed for high-volume manufacturing, it meets the demanding requirements of consumer electronics
markets where speed, miniaturization, and cost efficiency are paramount.
SMT Assembly Process Steps
- SMT assembly process begins with solder paste printing, where a
stainless steel stencil applies precise volumes of solder paste to
the PCB pads.
- High-speed pick-and-place machines then mount components onto the
board with exceptional accuracy.
- The assembled board proceeds through a reflow oven, where precisely
controlled temperature profiles melt the solder paste to form
reliable electrical and mechanical connections.
- Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) systems verify solder joint
quality, component placement accuracy, and polarity.
- For double-sided assemblies, the process is repeated on the
opposite side with high-temperature solder paste for the first side
and low-temperature for the second.
- X-ray inspection is employed for BGA and other hidden-joint
components.
